are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 7th year.
We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.

REMINDER: Apply by NOV. 1st to colleges

November 1st is the deadline for many larger colleges and universities applications. They start assigning scholarship monies to those who have completed applications on file as of November 1st. Even if you are unsure of which college you want to attend, go ahead and complete applications to those you are considering so that you will be in line for scholarship and grant monies!

Kansas State University – Freshman Mathematics Scholarship

Freshman Mathematics Scholarship
Scholarship Requirements:
Must currently be a junior or senior in high school or home school.
Must have an interest in mathematics.
Must declare a major or dual major in mathematics at K-State.
Must maintain a 3.5 or greater grade point average while at K-State.
Self nominations must include an academic reference from a teacher or counselor.
Scores and academic records are necessary to determine if the applicant meets the scholarship’s criteria.
Recipients of this scholarship will receive a renewable scholarship for up to three
additional years with a 3.5 or greater K-State GPA.
Applicants and nominees will receive information about our program.

Scholarship Application Checklist
Before you send in your application materials, please make sure you have included the following:
o Completed application with your signature and
the signature of your school guidance counselor.
o A copy of your high school transcript.
o Your essay of about 500 words, typed and double spaced.
o The references of two educators from your school,
using pages 9 and 10 of this application.
o Mail all application materials postmarked on or before
February 15, 2014.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must be a resident of an Eligible State.
  2. Must have attended as a junior and senior an Eligible High School.
  3. Must be a student in the 2014 high school graduating class.
  4. Must have achieved a high school GPA of 3.50 or higher.
  5. Must have scored 23 or higher (Composite Score) on the ACT; or, a Reading and Math Single Score of 1110 on the SAT.
  6. Must enroll in a four year college the first semester after high school.
  7. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to start of college.
  8. Must complete the FAFSA in 2013 using 2012 Tax Return Information.
  9. Must provide a complete copy of the FAFSA Student Aid Report (5 or 6 pages.)

10. FAFSA Expected Family Contribution (EFC) must be less than $7,500.

11. Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants.

12. Must not have been convicted of a felony.
