Hear first-hand as company representatives describe their modern manufacturing environment so you are prepared to share with your students and their parents the high potential in this career pathway. Take away a packet of information about manufacturing options and area companies. Did you know… Over 3,000 manufacturers in Kansas employ nearly 165,000 of our family, friends and neighbors. Average salaries for these manufacturers are more than $53,000 per year. And Kansas companies are seeking employees with advanced mechanical, computer and technical skills with many offering tuition reimbursement for employees completing associates or advanced degrees. Entry level advanced manufacturing jobs are available to qualified candidates with short-term postsecondary training which might include applied math skills, instrument calibration or computer programming to name a few. These positions offer the potential for higher starting wages and potential for leadership and promotion for motivated employees within companies. Manufacturing Day will be followed immediately by your regular Washburn Tech quarterly meeting. Please RSVP to Danielle Brady (785.228.6325) by Thursday, October 16 and visit the national Manufacturing Day website: http://www.mfgday.com/ for more information.
