Goal: To further the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce’s mission of supporting economic growth and community enrichment, the chamber is proud to offer one $500 scholarship to a 2016 graduating senior of Burlingame High School, Burlingame, KS.

Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016. The winning applicant will be chosen by the chamber scholarship committee and announced at the BHS Awards Assembly on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Applicant Criteria

•Any Burlingame, KS High School Senior, graduating in May of 2016.

• Must attend a college/ university / vocational program / higher education program in Kansas in 2016. Application Process

• Applicants must submit their application along with their essay by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016.

• The essay must be a minimum of 300 words on the topic: How would you promote Burlingame? The student with the best essay will be awarded the scholarship.

The essay will be scored as follows: • 300 words or more • Wrote about topic provided • Neatness & grammar • Best idea Please read all instructions carefully before submitting your application for consideration.

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

GPACAC 2016 Student Scholarship Application
GPACAC awards three $1,000 scholarships to students in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma, each year. To see if you qualify and to access the online application, please see the information below.

To qualify, applying students must meet the following requirements:

– be a May/June 2016 high school graduate
– attend high school in Nebraska, Kansas, or Oklahoma
– have an ACT Composite score of 21 – 28 (or SAT equivalent)
– have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

To apply for the 2016 scholarship:

– Review the Scholarship Guidelines and complete the application form (link below)
– Attach an original essay on the topic provided (500 word maximum)
– Submit and send all requested materials by the March 1, 2016 deadline

GPACAC Paul Max Service Scholarship

The 2016 Paul Max Service Scholarship awards a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior from the GPACAC area (Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma). Applicants must have completed or will complete community service hours by March 1, 2016. Hours must be completed between August 1, 2013 and March 1, 2016. This is a one-time only award payable to the post-secondary educational institution of the recipient’s choice. The award is intended to help pay for tuition, fees and/or books.

** IMPORTANT** Please note that only students with a GPA between 2.75 and 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) will be considered. GPA’s will be confirmed via transcript before scholarship is awarded to the winner.

All Requirements:

– Students must be planning on attending a 2 or 4 year institution enrolling in the fall following their high school graduation
– Students should have a strong service record that has impacted their school, religious affiliation, and/or community
– GPA between 2.75 and 3.50
– Complete the application by March 1
